I am officially on a 90 day shopping ban...

I have been a BAD girl. Work-related stress has resulted in me splurging on way too many purchases over the past month!

I must admit that although my job drives me up the wall with all those late hours and constant, extreme pressure to deliver, the upside is that I get to treat myself to some little luxuries every now and then. Except I went overboard on the NOW so I have to cut back on the then. Therefore, I am now imposing a strict 90-day shopping ban on myself. The only things I'm allowed to spend on are necessities like food, and replacing items that are worn/broken.

Now that the formalities are out of the way, let's review the damage...

SK-II stuff - I bought the Facial Treatment Clear Lotion and Advance Whitening Source Pancake (compact and puff came separately)

SK II Facial Treatment Clear Lotion 215ml Conditions. Purifies. Perfectly prepares skin for Facial Treatment Essence. This crystal clear skin refining lotion with Hydroxy-Acids, soothing moisturizers and Pitera is the final step of your purifying ritual. Alcohol-free.

This is actually a toner. Ingredients include hyaluronic acid and a chockfull of hydrating ingredients on top of the AHAs, so I reckon it should be good for my skin. Tonight is my second night using the toner (I only use it once a day), and so far my skin likes it. I can see that my face is glowier and my pores are smaller in the morning! Fingers crossed that it will continue to get better each day :D

Advanced Whitening Source Pancake
Advanced Whitening Source Pancake provides natural coverage of spots, freckles, pores and other skin imperfections for a flawless-looking finish. It contains MT Blocker P (Vitamin C derivative, Vitamin B3 and Pitera®) and Inositol, an ingredient that is also present in Whitening Source Derm-Revival Program. The secret to achieving this lies in its perfect blend of powders of three different sizes, which fills in pores and provides natural coverage of skin troubles. The unique blend of four pearl powders – cream, blue, pink and white - creates depth for light reflection, helping dull skin achieve a translucent finish

This 2-way cake is awesome! Its super fine texture glides on smoothly on top of my Lunasol Modeling Liquid Foundation and covers my scars (which are improving thanks to Paul & Joe) perfectly. The powders' mattifying powers are also really good, and it doesn't really sink into my laugh lines. Crossing my fingers that it won't break me out somewhere down the line.

Next.....

A purchase that broke the bank but made the girl happy...
My first Burberry bag! I didn't get the checkered one because too many people are using those! I'm a classic leather bag kinda girl, and I enjoy the feel of thick, squishy leather compared to canvas :D I also love the smell of buttery soft leather, it makes me feel like I'm in a room with a fireplace sitting on a club chair while it snows outside....or maybe that's just my overactive imagination.

Anyways, here's the bag...great for work or play, and just the right size! The tag thingy is removable, and it comes with a long leather strap so the satchel can be converted into a sling bag. Multi-tasking baby, I like.
The insides - see I still got my checkers! They're just not visible to outsiders :D

Ok the end I'm going to go nurse my sore bank account now.

Wen: HAHAHAH :D It was an impulse purchase! I was eating a sambal ikan bilis sandwich when out of the blue I had the thought that "I need to buy a bag!" So I went, I saw, I bought :D And OF COURSE IT WAS ON SALE you should know me quite well by now :P 50% off so it came to about USD728 ^^

Keyreo: LOL its a lovely bag. I don't think I'm gonna let anyone touch it either :D This bag is pretty sturdy so unless you're iron woman or something I doubt you'd break it ;)

Phew, glad to know that it WAS on sale. I mean, you know IMPULSE purchases can be pretty dang reckless! :P Anyway, I'm eager to get your Jill Stuart baby back to you so that you can wear it in good health! :)

p/s: My eagle eyes are watching the Chanel intently and wondering if its a sign that the seller lowered the price. Hmm..

haha I think I'm going through the same thing. I've been going shopping a lot, not very much with makeup but mostly clothes/shoes. Love your bag! I don't like plaid on the outside either, unless its the grey plaid (not brown).

You must let us know how the SK-II stuff works! Its so expensive I'm afraid to try it.

The bag's gorgeous! I agree, it's more unique compared to the usual checkered design.

oh my DAMN you went on a shopping spree. LOL. Great haul though and i am in loooooooooooove with the burberry bag. so chic!!!!!! Sorry, i haven't visited your page so much the reason is because the last few times/days i've tried to get on it just wouldn't load. weird huh?!? but anyways hope work is all good for you hun! Muahs!

Wow, I -love- the bag! The color, shape, finish! I wonder how it looks worn, is it very big? Ah SK-II skincare is so expensive, but very popular and highly rated in Japan. I want to try their Facial Treatment Mask but it's $100 for a box! And I just splurged on Albion (which is pretty high up there too). Maybe after a couple of months or something, I'm sorta on a shopping diet too x)

Hun, I LOVE SK-II--I've got the liquid version of the whitening foundation and it's fantastic!

Great choice of bag--very chic!

You have great taste!

sloppy: The checkers/plaids are synonymous with Burberry, and although I do think they're pretty (love the black and white one especially) I'm still more of a leather bag kinda person :)

Wen: I know exactly what you mean. Teehee yeahhh I'm eagerly awaiting the day I get to hold Jill Stuart in my arms :) G'luck with the Chanel, may the shopping gods be with you!

Shopn'Chomp: Its my first time using SK2 and I have pretty high expecatations of it. Waiting to see results :D Thanks!

blue: Its grey? LOL I always assumed it was black and white! Yeah I like that collection...the one bag that Emma Watson is modeling for Fall '09 is pretty, but I'm gonna hold off on designer bags for awhile :D

Tine: Yeap, I'm a sucker for soft leather bags :D

Sylvia: HAHA spree indeed, suffering from major guilt trip right now! Work is still a bitch but at least I'll enjoy bringing the bag with me for abit :D Hmm, that's so weird! It happens to me when I try to visit some other people's blogs as well. Anyway, glad to have you back <3

innerchild: Thanks! Hmm its not too big, about the size of a Speedy 30 I reckon. I'll probably have pics of the bag with my outfits soon so you'll see how it looks when worn :) Oooo I've heard of Albion, tho I'm not sure we have it here. I bought the SK2 stuff at a steal, lets just say its one of the perks of my job...

JC: Hehe I don't think I should spoil my skin with that many high end cosmetics just yet :P Thanks for the compliment, but my philosophy is that if you're gonna spend that much money on a bag, you'd better be damned sure to be able to use it for at least the next 3 years for it to pay out :D Of course the problem is that I'll probably have accumulated a few more bags by then....

That's really a nice haul. I heard from many people saying SK II is not necessary suitable for everyone. A few of my friends been tried SK II and they got broke out heavily and 1 of them previously having perfect smooth skin. After SK II, she got some dented scars on skin, which really upset her a lot. This is the reason why I never try SK II after so many years. I also heard SK II is a banned product in US because of its ingredients, is that true? I really have no idea about this but I'm glad your skin likes it very much. I like your Burberry's bag. I'm looking for something similar too but on low budget now. Hahaha... I thought you wanted to get the LV Speedy ? Have you got it ?

Elly said...

OMG! This is perhaps the first Burberry I like! Would you care to share at which store you got this lil darling? They only have the med Tenby at KLCC. Pleasssee...! Thanks.

Katie!: Thanks :) And yes, soft buttery leather is loveeee <3

Synaesthesia: Hmm, I don't think its banned in the US cos Cate Blanchett is their spokesperson over there. It contains pitera, which is fermented yeast, so I don't see any reason why it should be banned? :D I decided not to get the speedy because I've been seeing too many people carrying it! Not the Epi one, but still, I don't like having the same bag as the entire world hahahha

Elly: I bought mine at the Gardens Isetan (there's a standalone Burberry boutique in there) to get more points! :P But mine was the last one there, so I don't think there's anymore left. Perhaps try the Pavilion boutique?
